Gastric Alimetry in CNVS

This study evaluated 43 adults with nausea and vomiting syndromes (NVS) and 43 healthy controls using Gastric Alimetry Body Surface Gastric Mapping (BSGM). NVS patients showed an impaired response to meals, and two subgroups emerged despite overlapping symptom profiles: most (62%) recorded normal BSGM alongside higher psychological scores, while a smaller group (31%) recorded abnormal BSGM that correlated with symptom severity. These findings suggest BSGM may add objective physiological information to the clinical assessment of gastric symptoms. Refer article for full COI

Gastric Alimetry Reference Ranges

This study established normative reference intervals for the Gastric Alimetry spectral metrics using results from 110 healthy adults. It defined normal reference ranges for Principal Gastric Frequency (2.65–3.35 cpm), Gastric Alimetry Rhythm Index (≥0.25), BMI-Adjusted Amplitude (22–70 µV), and Fed:Fasted Amplitude Ratio (≥1.08). Alimetry Patient Profiling

In this multicenter prospective study, body surface gastric mapping (BSGM) with Gastric Alimetry was used to develop and apply a standardized classification scheme in 210 patients with functional dyspepsia and chronic nausea and vomiting syndromes. Most patients (83%) could be classified, and 37.6% showed a spectral abnormality. The identified groups correlated with symptom severity, quality of life, and psychological measures, supporting BSGM as an objective, mechanism-based aid to classifying and diagnosing gastric disorders.
